The 8 exam domains: weights and key points
Data and Analytics Management, Configuration and Setup, Object Manager, and Automation together make up more than 60% of the exam, so they are worth extra study time. The key points below come from the summary at the end of each chapter of the book.
Chapter 1Configuration and Setup
15%- Company Information holds org wide defaults, licenses, and storage. Personal settings set language, locale, and time zone.
- Business hours let escalations and milestones count only working time.
- Validate changes in a sandbox before production, and plan release updates around their due dates.
Chapter 2Object Manager and Lightning App Builder
15%- Master-detail: the parent is required, children follow its owner and sharing, and Roll-Up Summaries are available.
- Lookup: the child stays independent, with its own owner and sharing.
- Many-to-many uses a junction object with two master-detail relationships.
Chapter 3Sales and Marketing Applications
10%- Sales records flow from leads to accounts, contacts, and opportunities.
- Each stage maps to a probability and a forecast category that feed the forecast.
- Path gives guidance at each stage; validation rules are the tool for requiring values.
Chapter 4Service and Support Applications
10%- Web-to-Case and Email-to-Case work together with assignment rules to route cases.
- Assignment rules are evaluated in order and use the first match.
- Omni-Channel distributes work automatically; Knowledge reuses common answers.
Chapter 5Productivity and Collaboration
10%- Tasks are managed by due date; events have a start and end and appear on calendars.
- Shared Activities relate one activity to up to 50 contacts.
- Outlook and Gmail integration let users view and log Salesforce data from their inbox.
Chapter 6Data and Analytics Management
17%- The Data Import Wizard handles up to 50,000 records; Data Loader covers larger loads, more objects, deletes, and exports.
- Use the record ID for updates and an external ID with upsert for integrations.
- Good preparation makes imports succeed: clean duplicates, load parents first, and test with a small batch.
Chapter 7Automation
15%- Read the trigger, the target, and the action from the question, then pick the tool.
- Rule entries are evaluated in numeric order and the first match is used.
- Build new automation in Flow, and move existing rules over with the Migrate to Flow tool.
Chapter 8Agentforce
8%- An agent is built from topics, instructions, and actions; topic descriptions route the conversation.
- The Atlas Reasoning Engine picks a topic and alternates reasoning with actions.
- Answer quality comes from the data used for grounding, so start with a small scope of routine work.
How to study for the exam
The official Exam Guide does not give a number of study hours, so this plan divides your time by domain weight.
1.Check the official Exam Guide
Confirm the 8 domain weights and the current passing score in the Exam Guide for the language you will take. It is updated with each release.
2.Start with the four heaviest domains
Data and Analytics Management, Configuration and Setup, Object Manager, and Automation make up more than 60% of the exam. Read those chapters first.
3.Practice by domain in the app
Answer questions for each domain you have read, and go back to the matching section of the book for anything you miss.
4.Try the settings yourself
Open the same Setup pages in a Trailhead Playground (a practice org) and confirm what each setting does.
5.Finish with a timed practice exam
Take a 60 question, 105 minute practice exam to check your pacing and find the domains that still need work.
Three parts: learn, practice on screen, practice in the app

Part 3: Practice with the App
Answer questions for the same 8 domains in the companion app, then take a 60 question, 105 minute practice exam.
