Salesforce Certified Omnistudio Consultant

The Omnistudio Consultant exam tests whether you can judge, from a consultant's seat, which Omnistudio tool to use and how. It asks you to understand the strengths and limits of FlexCards, OmniScripts, Integration Procedures and Data Mappers, and to recommend the right combination for a given set of business requirements. Implementation, coding and performance tuning themselves are out of scope. The exam is 60 questions answered in 105 minutes, with a passing score of 67%. There are no prerequisite credentials; Salesforce describes the intended candidate as a business analyst or consultant with two to three years of hands-on Salesforce experience, and labels the level as intermediate. The exam is proctored at a test center or with online proctoring, no reference materials may be consulted during it, and it is offered in English, Japanese and French. Appointments can be booked at any time rather than on fixed exam dates. The credential carries no stated expiration date, but it lapses unless the Trailhead maintenance badge is completed once a year.

Official page

Who takes it

  • Consultants who own requirements gathering and proposals on projects that use Industry Clouds or Omnistudio
  • Business analysts and business consultants who work on Omnistudio projects without doing the development themselves
  • Solution architects who have to judge whether a proposal involving Omnistudio is feasible
  • Delivery managers and project or product managers
  • UX designers involved in screen experience design who need to know the constraints of FlexCards and OmniScripts

What it lets you do

  • Be able to explain, at the requirements stage, where the line falls between what each of the four Omnistudio tools can and cannot do
  • Gain a basis for judging how to translate business requirements into an implementation approach: which tool delivers what
  • Because building conceptual, logical and physical data models is in scope, you can share a design vocabulary with the development side
  • Because the scope assumes no coding, it gives people without development experience a foothold on Omnistudio projects
  • Because the exam outline overlaps with the Omnistudio Developer credential, it is a natural place to start before extending into the development side
