Salesforce Certified Agentforce Sales Foundations

Salesforce Certified Agentforce Sales Foundations (formerly Sales Representative) is about the sales process itself rather than product configuration. The scope runs from territory and key-account planning, qualifying prospects, and building a value proposition around customer needs, through objection handling, negotiation, and closing, to pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and post-sale customer success. Deal Management stands out at 37% of the exam, followed by Planning at 21% and Customer Engagement at 15%, while Forecasting accounts for only 6%. The audience described in the official exam guide has six months to three years of experience as a sales representative. The exam is 40 questions with a passing score of 70%; the fee is JPY 10,000 excluding tax and retakes are free. There are no prerequisites, and the exam is offered in English and Japanese. The official exam guide states there are no maintenance requirements at this time. One caveat: Salesforce's own pages disagree on the time limit — the official exam guide says 105 minutes while the Trailhead Academy catalog says 70 minutes.

Official page

Who takes it

  • Sales representatives with about a year of experience who want to put their own working method into words
  • Sales managers who want to standardize the team's sales process
  • People who do not handle Salesforce configuration but want the shared vocabulary of the sales side
  • People who want to settle the sales framework first, before moving up to Agentforce Sales Consultant
  • People who want to relearn how to run a deal systematically, rather than learning product features

What it lets you do

  • Because the exam covers the sales process rather than product configuration, you can sit it without Salesforce administrator experience (no prerequisites)
  • The fee is low at JPY 10,000 excluding tax (USD 75), and retakes are free
  • The official exam guide states plainly that there are no maintenance requirements at this time, so nothing has to be kept up after passing
  • The exam sections — planning, customer engagement, deal management, pipeline, forecasting, customer success — are laid out along the arc of a sales cycle
  • Can be taken in Japanese (offered in English and Japanese)

How hard it is

Pass rate: not published by the exam body. Salesforce does not release pass rates for its certifications. The passing score is 70%. The audience described in the official exam guide has six months to three years of experience as a sales representative, and Trailhead Academy labels the level "Foundational." Even so, the 70% passing score is higher than the company's entry-level exam (Platform Foundations, 62%).

How long people study

Questions people ask

Searching for "Agentforce Sales" turns up two credentials. What is the difference?
They are separate certifications. This page covers Agentforce Sales Foundations (exam code Sales-101, formerly Sales Representative): no prerequisites, 40 questions, JPY 10,000 excluding tax. The other one, Agentforce Sales Consultant (exam code Sales-Con-201, formerly Sales Cloud Consultant), requires the Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator credential as a prerequisite and is a higher-level exam of 60 questions in 105 minutes at JPY 30,000 excluding tax.
Is the time limit 70 minutes or 105 minutes?
Salesforce's own pages disagree. The official exam guide says 105 minutes; the Trailhead Academy catalog page says 70 minutes. Both are official Salesforce pages, so check what the registration screen shows before you sit the exam.
Can I pass without knowing how to use Salesforce?
The scope is the sales process; product configuration and operation are not tested. The audience in the official exam guide is someone with six months to three years of experience as a sales representative, and Salesforce administrator experience is not assumed.
Is the weighting skewed toward any area?
Deal Management stands out at 37%. It covers qualifying prospects, understanding the customer's business strategy and challenges, presenting the value proposition, removing obstacles, and closing the contract. Planning follows at 21% and Customer Engagement at 15%, while Forecasting stops at 6%.
Do I need to renew it after passing?
The official exam guide states there are no maintenance requirements at this time. This is handled differently from Agentforce Specialist, which requires an annual maintenance module.
