Salesforce Certified Omnistudio Developer

The Omnistudio Developer exam is a developer-level test of whether you can assemble business screens and processes using Omnistudio's declarative tools. The published scope covers configuring FlexCards, OmniScripts, Integration Procedures and Data Mappers, design decisions such as caching and Try/Catch handling, and isolating faults in the debug console. The exam is 60 questions answered in 105 minutes, with a passing score of 72%. There are no prerequisite credentials, but Salesforce describes the intended candidate as having one year of development experience plus three to six months designing, building and deploying with Omnistudio tools, and labels the level as intermediate. The exam is proctored at a test center or with online proctoring, no reference materials may be consulted during it, and it is offered in English, Japanese and French. Appointments can be booked at any time rather than on fixed exam dates. The credential carries no stated expiration date, but it lapses unless the Trailhead maintenance badge is completed once a year.

Official page

Who takes it

  • Salesforce platform developers working on projects that use Industry Clouds or Omnistudio
  • App builders who already configure FlexCards and OmniScripts but have no settled design patterns to work from
  • Engineers building integrations with external systems using Integration Procedures and Data Mappers
  • Anyone aiming to become a technical lead or solution architect on Omnistudio projects
  • UI developers who own the front end and are already comfortable with HTML, JavaScript and CSS concepts

What it lets you do

  • Be able to explain, at the configuration level, how FlexCards, OmniScripts, Integration Procedures and Data Mappers divide the work between them
  • Cover the settings that drive performance and robustness: chaining Integration Procedures, caching, and Try/Catch exception handling
  • Sort out when to use Extract, Turbo Extract, Load and Transform in Data Mappers, and cut wasted queries
  • Pick up a working procedure for isolating faults in the debug console, which shortens investigation time
  • Check where the line falls between what to solve declaratively and what to write programmatically, following the official exam outline

Questions people ask

Which spelling is correct, "OmniStudio" or "Omnistudio"?
The current official spelling uses a lowercase s: Omnistudio, as in Salesforce Certified Omnistudio Developer.
Do I need to be able to write Apex or LWC?
The official exam guide states that development experience with LWC, Apex or Angular and debugging logs in the browser console are not required. It does assume you are comfortable with the concepts behind web applications built from HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
What is the passing score?
72% (official exam guide, Spring '26 release). You answer 60 questions in 105 minutes.
Should I take the Developer or the Consultant credential first?
Neither has prerequisites and no order is specified. The difference in scope is that the Developer exam covers configuration, implementation and debugging, while the Consultant exam places implementation and coding out of scope.
Can I take the exam in Japanese?
Yes. The Trailhead Academy registration page lists English, Japanese and French as the available languages.
