Salesforce Certified Agentforce Sales Consultant

The Salesforce Certified Agentforce Sales Consultant exam (Sales-Con-201) is an intermediate credential for consultants who have designed and implemented Agentforce Sales (formerly Sales Cloud) solutions in a customer-facing role. It centres on building out the sales process from lead through opportunity, quote and close, choosing an appropriate security model, planning data migration and maintaining data quality, and turning KPIs into reports and dashboards. Predictive and generative AI account for 13% of the questions; the remaining 87% covers the sales lifecycle, consulting and implementation strategy, practical application and data management. Holding the Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator credential is a required prerequisite for registration. The exam is 60 multiple-choice questions in 105 minutes with a passing score of 73%, and questions follow the Summer '25 product release. The credential was renamed from Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant on July 24, 2026; the exam code and the exam content did not change.

Official page

Who takes it

  • Consultants at Salesforce partner firms who deliver Sales Cloud / Agentforce Sales implementation projects
  • In-house Salesforce administrators responsible for designing and improving their own organisation's sales processes
  • Presales and solution design staff who lead engagements from requirements gathering through release and adoption
  • People who already hold the Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator credential and are looking for their next specialist certification
  • Business systems staff who own sales KPI design and the reports and dashboards behind it

What it lets you do

  • The exam outline is divided into five areas (Sales Lifecycle, Consulting and Implementation Strategies, Practical Application of Agentforce Sales Expertise, Data Management, and Predictive and Generative AI), which gives you a structured way to audit your implementation knowledge across the sales domain
  • Because Platform Administrator is a prerequisite, earning this credential demonstrates both administrator skills and business consulting skills to people outside your organisation
  • On the official related-credentials pages it belongs to the group of certifications treated as prerequisites for others, such as Salesforce Certified Education Cloud Consultant
  • Third parties can verify the credential on your Trailblazer profile, and it feeds automatically into a partner firm's Navigator score (stated in the official FAQ)
  • Questions follow the Summer '25 release, so the scope extends to the generative and predictive AI features of Agentforce Sales

Questions people ask

I searched for "Sales Cloud Consultant" and could not find it on the official site. Has it been retired?
It was renamed, not retired. According to the official Certification Name Changes FAQ, it became Salesforce Certified Agentforce Sales Consultant on July 24, 2026. The exam code is still Sales-Con-201, and neither the exam content nor the maintenance requirements changed. Anyone who earned it under the old name does not need to retake it, and the display on the Trailblazer profile switches to the new name automatically.
Can I skip the prerequisite and register anyway?
No. Holding the Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator credential is a condition of registration, and the Trailhead Academy credential page states that you must satisfy the prerequisite to be eligible to register for this exam. You need to earn Platform Administrator (formerly Administrator) first.
Now that Agentforce is in the name, has this become an exam about AI agents?
By weighting, Predictive and Generative AI is 13%. The other 87% is the traditional consulting material: sales lifecycle, consulting and implementation strategies, practical application, and data management. The official FAQ also states that the name change does not alter exam content or maintenance requirements.
What is the pass rate?
Salesforce does not publish pass rates for its certification exams. The only figure that can be confirmed officially is the 73% passing score. Pass-rate claims found elsewhere usually have no traceable source, so it is safer not to rely on them.
If I fail, what does it cost to sit the exam again?
The retake fee is JPY 15,000 (excluding tax) / USD 100 (excluding tax), half the initial fee. According to the notice in the official exam guide, this half-price retake applies to retakes registered from 19:30 JST on July 24, 2026 onward.
